Life Always discontinues using image in Dangerous Place billboards

New York, New York (March 3, 2011) – A recent New York City billboard which addressed the high number of abortions among African Americans and depicted a beautiful little girl in a pink dress, was removed last week by Lamar Outdoor Advertising. The girl’s mother reports that she signed an agreement releasing the rights to her daughter’s photo. Life Always purchased the image from a stock photo supplier which had a signed model’s release.

“Although Life Always has the right to continue using the image, out of respect for the little girl and her family, we will no longer use her photo,” said Pastor Stephen Broden, a board member of Life Always.

Broden added that Life Always will continue placing advertisements across the country to educate and raise public awareness of confrontational truths about abortion. The billboard, which read, “The most dangerous place for an African American is in the womb,” was erected to draw attention to New York City Health and Mental Services statistics report that in 2009, 60% of African American babies in New York City never made it out of the womb.
